Gorgeous escarpment and unusual rock formations.

Gorgeous escarpment and unusual rock formations. Great to see the wild horses and visit the magnificent waterfall. Excellent restaurant with the best Eisbein and beef goulash at Bohemian. Wonderful Sunday afternoon music too. Nice to meander through the village streets. We were lucky to see the Autumn leaves turning so delightful colours everywhere.

Kaapsehoop is a beautiful quaint historical village hidden in the mist belt along the Escarpment in South Africa. I would strongly recommend this village for nature lovers with its many hikes. It is also great for any-one with an interest in history with a few old ruins of the offices and the houses, most made of corrugated iron, dating from the the towns heyday as a gold mining town in the late 19th century.

Very peaceful place and great sunsets. Food at the Bohemian is lekka!, We stayed at Coddiwomple cottage. the cottage is perfect for a family, clean and spacious. nice views and location.

The variety of restaurants are within walking distance and you meet the locals where they hang out. Clean and crisp air with the wild horses walking freely is amazing. This town has its own character just like Clarens has theirs.

A beautiful, somewhat rustic quaint little town that developed itself around the wild horses that co-inhabit the town. The environment is beautiful with easy walks guiding visitors to interesting sites and areas. The restaurants were disappointing, but that was to be expected from such a small town where they cannot possible make a living on the patronage of the locals alone.
