    Main street still very pretty, with lots of quaint little...

    Main street still very pretty, with lots of quaint little shops. Restaurant / Coffee Shop choices are more limited than we expected... several places are advertised but no longer exist. The rest of the town (anything a block away from the main street) is in terrible shape - roads and buildings dirty and in complete disrepair, feels very unsafe. Vaal de Grace is excellent for golfers - beautiful area and course is in great shape. Didn't get a chance to play Parys Golf Club

    Always a charming, quaint town to visit.

    Always a charming, quaint town to visit. We were unfortunate to visit when Parys experienced extensive flooding, so we could not do many of the activities. Oh by the way, House of Chocolate was a lovely coffee shop find with divine cakes and they referred me to Angelo's for dinner - the best pizza and pasta you'll ever have!!

    Parys is an absolute gem of a town with plenty of...

    Parys is an absolute gem of a town with plenty of interesting little shops and unique findings. Some of the pricing though is exorbitant and does tend to cater for the international tourist instead of the local tourist. The people are very friendly and welcoming and there is definitely lots to see and do - not to mention the Vaal river which was at it's peak running through the town.

    It's a really amazing little dorpie, with real friendly people & stunning places to visit. It was just a bit dissapointing that we couldn't do the River Rafting we drove all way from JHB to do. Hoi Koloi's service & breakfast was absolutely amazing

    Parys is an absolute gem—charming, artistic, and perfect for a weekend of strolling and exploring. The town invites you to meander through its quaint streets, discovering unique boutiques, galleries, and local artisan shops filled with one-of-a-kind keepsakes. Every corner holds a creative surprise, making it a haven for art lovers and collectors alike. One of the highlights of our visit was our ornate dinner at O Restaurant, where we enjoyed generous, home-cooked portions that offered incredible value for money. The warmth of the atmosphere matched the heartiness of the meals, making it a must-visit spot. Another standout experience was our visit to Hoi Polloi—a place bursting with character and eclectic charm. You truly need hours to take in the intricate decor and soak up the unique ambiance. Every inch of the space tells a story, making it an experience in itself. Parys offers the perfect mix of small-town charm, artistic expression, and culinary delights, making it an ideal escape for those looking to slow down and savor the moment. We’ll definitely be back!

    Parys is a very chilled and relaxed farming town.

    Parys is a very chilled and relaxed farming town. It has a variety of restaurants offering from simple to heavy meals. Only if they could extend shopping hours. Shops close early and the town becomes super quite. I highly recommend Parys for couples. Good place to rejuvenate LOVE with your partner. Lastly, options for buying antiques is very broad. Biltong! Biltong! Biltong is tasty
