Fire place with heaps of woods prepared in the garage. Fast wifi, oh, the last room, which is at the end of the corridor, doesn't get strong wifi, but it didn't really bother much. Really nice host with a prompt response. A few days before our booking, there was an unexpected road closure. I got worried and texted Mel. She was super helpful, giving all the details and information that she could get. From that information, she said that the road work would be done before my check-in date. And she kept me posted until the road work was finally done, which was really kind. (In the end, the road reopened even before the scheduled date.) We absolutely loved this place. So happy that we could make it to Franz Josef! As soon as we checked in, I contacted Mel to extend our stay, but sadly, it was already booked(no wonder!) I'm definitely coming back when I'm back in town next time =)

Yet, it has a delightful rustic charm that appeals to the traveller who wants to unwind. Herbs in the garden, birds singing, no one can see you, untamed natural vegetation surrounding you just 1 minute off the main highway. Which I will add for city folk is an old world two lane highway. We recommend to all lifestyles.
