Made up of more than 700 islands and over 2,000 cays, the Bahamas is covered with coral reef and historic towns. The islands are part of North America and sandwiched between Florida to the north and Cuba to the south. The islands’ top attraction are their beaches, with long stretches of powdery soft sand running into vividly blue waters. The capital of Nassau gives you the best of both worlds, with secluded beaches, seafood dining and vibrant nightlife. The iconic Pink Sand Beach can be found on Harbour Island, with ferries running on most days between main points of interest. The Bahamas are a watersports wonderland, with dolphin encounters, shark diving and kiteboarding just some of the bucket-list adventures on offer. If you want to explore the islands at your leisure, you can rent a boat to captain yourself or join a fully crewed charter. The most popular style of accommodation in the Bahamas are beach resorts, but a number of apartments, villas and holiday homes are also available.

My stay here was delightful. I rented one of their one bedroom, one bath units on the beach.
It is fully equipped with a Keurig, a blender, cutlery, glassware, plates and more. The refrigerator had Sands Beer and bottles of water + a jug of purified water for the coffee. There is a screen TV, a moder bathroom, with a state-of-the art shower system you would find in a luxury hotel. The bed was comfortable, but the best part was how quiet and serine it was. No hotel noises and their A/C unit is as quiet as a whisper when it's on.
The complex sits right on the water. You can watch a sunrise or sit on the deck and watch the sunset. Better yet, hop in a hammock and look up into the night sky and see hundreds of stars.
While the property is still going through renovations and expansion, my stay was peaceful, and quiet.
The rates are competitive, and of great value. Given how spacious each studio is, how close you are to the water/beach, and how clean, and well-appointed the rooms are - Great Cistern Beach Village was a great find!
Offering a year-round outdoor pool and spa centre, The Island House is located a 6-minute drive from the closest beach, Nirvana. The hotel has a terrace, and guests can enjoy a meal at the restaurant....

The place is amazing and gives you access to the beach club which is a beautiful and long private beach. It is very expensive, but with the prices in Nassau, if you enjoy luxury and quiet, you are better off investing a bit more and staying here instead of noisy and busy resorts

Located in Nassau, a few steps from Goodman's Bay Beach, Goldwynn Resort & Residences provides accommodation with an outdoor swimming pool, free private parking, a fitness centre and a restaurant.
Guest review
The quality of everything was excellent - above expectations. The staff were just SO friendly from check in, round the pool, housekeeping, the restaurant. We've never been to a hotel with such friendly staff
Room fittings are excellent and it was really comfortable. USB points by the bed and really fast USB on the desktop. Great Wi-Fi around the entire resort.
If you're from the UK be prepared for sky high prices but thats the island rather than the hotel. One night we had a KFC delivery which was $78 !!!!!!! If you go out for dinner a cab each way will be $20-$25 without a tip
The pool is the best I've been in in my life (and I'm 73 now). Its 1.3m all over so ideal for me as a non swimmer to just stand in and relax. Views over the beach and the sea. Watch the cruise liners coming in and out. Just perfect
The resort is at the right end of the beach as the waves are gentlest and it has the least loose eel grass.

Located in Nassau, a few steps from Sea Wall - West Bay Street, Ocean West Boutique Hotel provides accommodation with an outdoor swimming pool, free private parking, a fitness centre and a garden.
Guest review
We stayed at the hotel for only a short time, but it was enough to have a truly positive experience.
First and foremost, our check-in had to be done at 10 PM due to a significant delay with Bahamasair. The front desk staff - DAVRIAN - warmly welcomed us and even arranged for a pizza since we were starving. At checkout, they provided us with fresh fruit, even though breakfast service hadn’t started yet.
The hotel offers airport transfers and rides to other areas of Nassau at a very reasonable price. While the building and furniture are a bit dated, this actually adds a certain charm to the hotel.
Throughout our stay, we were treated with exceptional hospitality. We highly recommend the Ocean West Boutique Hotel!

Our room was beautiful, lovely wooden floor and a huge balcony. Chris met us on arrival and checked us in and he couldn't have been more heplful to us. We were having difficultly with our phones and he very kindly contacted the driver who was to pick us up the next day for a day trip , to confirm the pick up time. We met Shanique the following day and she was just as kind and helpful.

In busy, touristy, sometimes even artificial Nassau, this is the oasis you are looking for. I can't put my finger on it, but none of the photos, not even professional ones, pay this place justice. They tend to come out "granny-style". But the house is a gorgeous colonial-style building full of antiques and lovely details. It is like travelling back in time, in a good way. The huge, lush garden with the pool (yep, that pool with the blue, painted bottom) makes you forget the crowded, souvenir shops and the dusty roads in a second.
