The rooms at Hotel Volkschule are designed in a modern style, featuring cable TV and an en suite bathroom. I really had a lovely stay in this hotel. Its a renovated old schoolhouse and you can see its evolution from school to hotel on various trendy pictures on the corridor walls. It's very nicely decorated in a modern style but manages to keep its old worldly charms. The breakfast room is very large (like a school canteen) and there was a large selection of things to eat. Really enjoyed the breakfast! Our room was comfortable, spacious and quiet. The location was good too for what we needed. There is a U-bahn stop about 5 minutes walk away which brings you to the city centre in about 20minutes. There is a nice and cozy bar / lounge area just left of the reception area. The staff were very pleasant and helpful. I really liked my stay here. If I return to Hamburg one day I would go back here again without hesitation (if not too expensive). I think I got a good deal this time.

The staff was very friendly and even let me check in a bit early since the room was already ready. I especially loved the area. I've stayed in other districts in Hamburg, but this one is by far my favorite. It’s a beautiful neighborhood with charming houses, lots of greenery, and the lake is just a 5–10 minute walk away. There are also plenty of nice cafés and supermarkets nearby. Highly recommend!

All rooms feature an open bathroom concept with separate WC. I loved the suite ot was cozy, roomy, and comfortable. The facilities at the hotel were awesome especially the Spa. The breakfast was first class as well. The staff were very friendly too.
