The very modern and artistic interiors feature marble floors, stairs and railings. The entire hotel's colour scheme is beautifully done in whites, beiges and maroons, with rich gold detailing. 10++ even from our arrival. The check in receptionist was great, he offered us late check out, free breakfast (but we sleep a lot and didn't go) Also they gave us free dinner (normal 18 euro), this we ate because we where very tired and this offer came perfectly for us and we thank them very much. Staff excellent the location is superb and perfectly placed If you stay there park at Damascus gate and then walk 500 meters (parking around 20 euro) If ever in Jerusalem for sure this is our number one option.

Rooms at The American Colony are located in 4 buildings; the Main House, the East House, the Palm House and the Cow Byre. Luxurious and spacious rooms feature air conditioning, flat-screen TV and Italian "Frette" bed linen. The modern bathrooms are equipped with designer amenities. The hotel grounds are beautiful, with a lovely, lush garden in between the stone buildings of the estate. Ample free parking was available on site. The service was superb, all staff were helpful and very friendly. Breakfast was rich and tasty, and there was a selection of vegan items available upon request. Complimentary beverages and water bottles were stocked daily in the room, and having a Nespresso coffee machine complete with capsules in the room was lovely. The hotel was beautifully decorated for the approaching Christmas holiday and the festive atmosphere was warm and welcoming. We enjoyed drinks at the bar, which is comfortable and cozy, lovely for relaxing after a day of exploring the city.

The hotel was really comfortable and convenient. It is located near to most of the historical/Biblical places - and was a few meters from the Zion square. The old city Jaffa gate was a few minutes walk from the hotel. Then Mahne Yehuda market was also at a walking distance. I walked around Jerusalem - and it was just perfect that all the Biblical places were SO closeby. The hotel was clean and the staff was good. The breakfast was nutritious and healthy, with a lot of options. Perfect breakfast. Overall the hotel was just perfect value for money. The views outside the hotel were not flattering. But that is okay, since it was right by Zion Square with so many restaurants/eateries and shopping outlets. Honestly, it was more than I expected.
