Every detail is well thought of, and the location near Takayama Old city is great.

We have traveled to so many countries and stayed at so many homestays, hotels, bed and breakfast - you name it. This place, however, was one of the best - if not THE BEST - place we have ever stayed at - WORLDWIDE! such a friendly atmosphere there. The food is simply AMAZING!! the views are mind-blowing. The hosts are extremely friendly and go above and beyond to make your stay the best ever and as authentic as it can get. This is exactly what we had wished for during our Japan trip. It was simply great and madr our trip to Japan. The elderly man, his wife and their son as well as the whole staff was exceptional. ARIGATO! THANK YOU SO MUCH! PS: the onsen with views to the river (and the second one as well) is simply true bliss. Great!!!!!

Located in the centre of Takayama Historic District, Ryokan Tanabe 旅館田邊 is one of the most historical ryokans in the city. It features Japanese-style rooms and free WiFi in all areas. Guests can request relaxing massage treatments or soak in the indoor and outdoor hot-spring baths, which are made of rocks and cypress wood. Beautiful traditional Ryokan, the staff is amazing. Very nice Onsen (they allowed me in in spite of several tattoos) and delicious dinner and breakfast. Recommended for trying the traditional Japanese hospitality.

Authentic Japanese set meals are served for breakfast and dinner. Excellent service at the center of the city. I forgot sole earbuds in my room and they helped me review of i left them there

The hotel is located in the center of Takayama city, and there are many restaurants around. The Japanese-style accommodation offers spacious public baths. No meals are provided, but bread and soup are provided as light meals in the room. Free parking is provided on site. Beautiful ryokan with multiple amenities available and great location. The owner was very nice and helpful.

JR Takayama Station is located a 3-minute walk away. Three private onsens, and a shared onsen - natural hot spring water and ice cream afterwards. Great staff. Delicious ramen at night and breakfast buffet in morning. Comfortable pajamas. Felt very relaxing and also rejuvenating like a spa.

Guests can enjoy multi-course Japanese dinner using Hida Beef at private dining room. Free WiFi is available throughout the property. Everything, hospitality, location, room, onsen, massages. It was great experience and I cannot recommend this even.
