Miyajima
Miyajima Guesthouse Mikuniya is a traditional Japanese-style guesthouse located on Miyajima (Itsukushima). It has a beautiful Japanese garden and a large living room, creating a peaceful and relaxing atmosphere. Our friendly mascot cat will welcome you! I thought this would be just a nice sleepover place and nothing more but it is so beautiful and has a very unique traditional feel that it made our stay on the island so much better. You even get free breakfast/dinner if you don't have time to eat outside and depart early in the morning/ don't manage to fetch a table in a reataurant in the evening because there is limited amount of restaurants that are open in late evening or early morning. The whole house is very authentic and the family that runs the place also offers a little souvenir shop with super cheap prices of local souvenirs, some even locally handmade. Thr staff is super nice and the xommom areas welcoming to spend the evenings in game/living room. Also had beautiful garden and amazing views from the rooms right on the sea

Combining modern design with a homely decor, Kikunoya Hotel offers both Western and Japanese-style rooms. Entertainment options include cable channels and a DVD player. Certain rooms include an en suite bathroom. Toiletries and slippers are provided for in the private and shared bathroom. Stayed for a honeymoon. Staff went ABOVE and BEYOND; personally handwritten note during dinner, honeymoon gift, amazing service throughout at check-in, kaiseki dinner, japanese breakfast (superior even compared to other part of japan), calling a free shuttle for us to the ferry port. First time at miyajiama and i will be back.

The stylish rooms at ITSUKUSHIMA IROHA feature tatami-mat flooring and private bathrooms. Amenities include a flat-screen TV and DVD player.
It's by far the best hotel experience we had in Japan, after being in 4-5 other cities. The lounge facing ocean with sunset view is amazing, and the rooftop bath in the night overlooking the bay and the Tori is intimate and relaxing, after the crowd is gone.
The staff is extremely caring and offered personalized advice to visit and dine out. We were late for check-out because of some delay with the ropeway, but the staff really cared about our wellbeing.
Cherry on top, beds in Japan are usually very hard but this hotel gave me the best sleep!

Fantastic place to stay, great location, such a lovely island to be on in the evening with not many people around. The staff were exceptionally lovely, very, very helpful. The futon beds were comfortable and the room had everything we needed.

Lovely comfortable, very stylish inn
View out the window to Miyajima was gorgeous. Loved the room with both beds and a futon tatami area. Breakfast was great. Heaps of options, fresh and yummy! Onsen was lovely! Shuttle bus from the station was great and timetabling of it was great for us to get in and out of town.
Charmingly designed with tradition, big hotel. Had good sea view. Enjoyed the dinner and cruise. Onsen was quite empty at dinner time so peace and quiet
The staff were so friendly and lovely. It was a truly incredible stay. The private Onsen made my little families trip. The stand alone house was gorgeous.
The view was exceptional and the dinner in the room was very delicious. The room is spacious and is beautifully designed. It is located right at the beach which was great to explore and the shuttle to the hotel from the station was punctual and fast. The breakfast was great too.
The hotel itself gives is beautifully designed and gives off a traditional ryokan vibe. The location is perfect and is a great option for those who plan to stay a night. They also provide yukatas and sandals for use around the island. The onsen bath was also very pleasant and I was lucky enough to receive a free room upgrade. Would definitely visit again.
Absolutely insane location overlooking the gorgeous sea and Miyajima island. The room was probably the largest I've seen in Japan and was very comfortable. It was super affordable and even came with a delicious free breakfast. Could not recommend the stay here enough!
The hotel is gorgeous and the staff (particularly a woman from Taiwan whose name I unfortunately cannot spell) were SO lovely and helpful. The traditional Japanese room with views onto the garden/mountains was stunning, huge, and impeccably clean. The Japanese breakfasts & dinners, including their oysters, were fantastic.
