From Tsubakino Hotel it is a 40-minute drive to Jigokudani Monkey Park, as well as to the Hokusai-kan Museum in Obuse Town. Although I checked in late, the staff was so accomodating. It was a great experience being here during winter. Such a beautiful place

Situated within a private forest and boasting outdoor hot springs and award-winning cuisine, Sierra Resort Hakuba is a 10-minute drive from JR Hakuba Train Station. The spacious rooms offer beautiful views of the surrounding nature, while Free WiFi is available in public areas and in the guest room. Breakfast was incredible and the amenities are top tier. I was thoroughly impressed with the resort and I can't imagine staying anywhere else in Hakuba

Some hot spring baths can be rented for private use. The property is a 15-minute bus ride from JR Matsumoto Station, and a 10-minute bus ride to the national treasure, Matsumoto Castle. Free parking is available. Loved the traditional ryokan style and incredible onsen. The meals were delicious and all served in private dining rooms - Japanese style. Lovely staff.
