Enjoyed immensely the private patio and outdoor shower. Unanticipated luxury at reasonable rates. Exceptionally comfortable bed and plush sheets and towels. Staff went above and beyond to please and assist.

All the suites have king size beds with pillows of soft goose down and fine Egyptian cottons. We loved the design of this hotel. It was like Ethan Allen had had a hand in decorating the public spaces - it was so perfectly boho British Colonial. We loved the cozy bar and the lush plantings on the grounds of the hotel. Also loved the breezeway with the coy pond on the way to the bar and restaurant. Our room was very comfortable. The staff was laid back while still being professional. We have stayed in many places in South Africa that were super-duper deluxe. We liked that The Residence felt more homey and comfortable without being over the top.

Everything was so perfect and well thought! The staff is very knowledgeable, kind and helpful. I think words can’t express just how much we enjoyed the experience. Shout out to Giselle, incredibly nice and helpful, she really knows how to make guests feel comfortable and welcomed!

The food was top notch. The people exceeded expectation. I felt truly well looked after by everyone I engaged with. I lost my data so I’ve forgotten some of the names but I recall Charlotte I think from the restaurant at breakfast. I enjoyed lovely conversations with her amidst great service. Another lady at reception, a manager I think was just amazing, we took some photos and videos as I left to go back home. It was such a memorable stay. Amazing people. Amazing property.
