The receptionists were very helpful. They were well prepared with maps on which they marked Christmas markets and the closest trams. They also provided Basel cards which were helpful when moving around the city. The room was big, tidy and included a kitchenette ( the kettle, combined with the tea bags from reception kept us warm). Also there are other appliances in the lobby that you could borrow. The buffet breakfast was quite diverse (having the option to make fresh orange juice was appreciated).

The location of the hotel is great, just a few steps away from the busy area with lots of shops, restaurants and public transportation. The room was clean and staff very friendly and helpful.

The Hotel Alexander is located right at the Messe Basel fairgrounds and the Congress Center, a 7-minute ride from the center of Basel. The tram stop is right outside. Free Wi-Fi is available.

The single room and its bed are both pretty generously sized, comfortable, and immaculate. The staff at both reception and the restaurant could not have been more accommodating. Very nice hotel close to the center, big room, clean, comfortable. We got free public transportation and 50% price reduction for all museums, which was great. Parking in a garage 17.5 euros/night.
