The host is the best, really enjoyed our talking with him. All the main sights in Fort Cochi are on a walkable distance which is really nice. We did a day trip to Munnar and really liked it (if we had more time we would have stayed more days in Munnar).

A friend recommended this hotel and I would definitely recommend it to others! Lovely hotel, we loved the vibrant yellow walls and decor. The staff were lovely and helped us with everything we needed. We had a great trip to the waterfall with their driver. Great central location. We loved the afternoon tea and snacks by the poolside everyday. The food in the restaurant was really delicious and great value for money.

You feel at home at Taj Mahal, Usha and her family are very friendly and look after their guests like family. I loved my terrace full of lights and plants and the room is quiet so you can have a good sleep. I recommend it 100% and will come back.

We stayed at Eighth Bastion in Fort Kochi, and it was an absolutely fantastic experience. The staff and the hotel’s theme were exceptional – they were always there with a smile, ready to help or answer any questions. An extra bonus was the excellent espresso available in the room, along with a variety of loose-leaf teas. In the afternoons, snacks were offered, and included in our stay was a two-hour tuk-tuk sightseeing tour as well as a heritage morning walk.
I have rarely stayed at a hotel that consistently goes the extra mile to create a memorable experience for its guests. The location is also excellent, right behind the Dutch Cemetery and Sandy Beach, where you can enjoy the sunset within minutes. From there, it’s a pleasant walk along the water to the busier parts of town.
Breakfast here was probably the best we’ve had in India, with plenty of healthy and nutritious options. The restaurant also served very tasty and reasonably priced meals, and any special requests were always happily accommodated.
Eighth Bastion Fort Kochi is our obvious choice whenever we return – and we definitely will!

Absolutely beautiful room with 3 balconies. In nice, small, quiet streets about 200m from the centre, well away from being hassled by auto drivers and restaurant owners. Beautiful singing from the local church on Sunday mornings. Unlike the centre, you can see and hear a lot of birds.
The hosts are brilliant, communicating well and quickly on WhatsApp. They arranged to have our washing done, they even negotiated a lower price for us.
