The owners are the best hosts ever. Fresh tapioca every morning, amazing freshly made juices… surrounded by monkeys, birds. We didn’t have the same language but they made everything to make my stay to the best. I will nevet forget, and will return for sure.

    Perfect hosts, beautiful guesthouse and nice breakfast! Fully recommendable! During our 3-nights stay we have felt like home thanks to the owners who are perfect in hosting with a very welcoming and helpful attitude. The place is nicely decorated with many plants and comfortable places to hangout. The room and bathroom are clean and fully functional. Also the breakfast is great with changing fruits, juices, marmalade and cake every day. The city center is only a short walk away.

    Everything. This 10000% the best pousada. Marcia is a wonderful lovely and funny host who made sure my stay at Alter do Chao is unforgettable. The food prepared by chef Aparicio is super delicious, loved all of it. The overall atmosphere, the garden with mango tree, swimming pool, turtles, cats. Many thanks to everyone who made my stay as one of my dreams, Marcia, Guilherme, Aparicio, all their friends and a special thanks to Fred to happiest dog alive

    Very fun and creative concept in a beautiful location! It was an unforgettable experience to be able to wake up in a forest surrounded by monkeys. The host also spoke incredible English (which was a blessing in Brazil for us as foreigners!) and was super kind, always willing to help with any of the questions/requests we had. Overall a 10/10 experience!

    The owners were lovely and looked after us so well, even though we didn't speak the same language! The room was nice and clean and the garden is beautiful (and a family of monkeys visits in the mornings!) We had a great breakfast with lots of options. It's a short walk to the beach, restaurants and shops.
