Clean. Comfortable bed. The room was not too hot but not cold either. Comfortable temperature.. quiet despite other guests being there. Didn't hear anyone use the bathrooms either. Perfect for my brief visit.

I loved staying at the captains retreat with my family it was a home away from home very calming and cosy. Lynsey made sure our stay was wonderful with all her loving little extras. We would love to rebook another stay next year

    Host Trudy is so lovely, totally made me feel at home. Attentive without being intrusive. Spacious room, fantastic location and a delicious breakfast. Facilities were spotlesa and amenities in the room fantastic - variety of tea, coffee etc, shortbread and choccy biscuit a treat. A full size fridge and microwave a really good idea! Toiletries provided in bathroom also a lovely surprise. Light and airy room with large window. Honestly, felt like I was visiting family, looking forward to next visit (booked before I left).
