The best hotel crew you could dream of! We stayed at Lamala for three nights and had the very best hotel experience during our Georgia trip. The location at the bottom of the valley at the foot of the mountain is absolutely outstanding. At Lamala you will meet the warmest, kindest and most helpful host and staff you could ever dream of. Every room has it’s own balcony and is nice and clean. The hotel has the cutest dogs who will follow you on your hike, if you like some company. If you like a challenge, try and ask them to play backgammon.

The river Svaneti was the great place to start our hike from Mestia to Ushguli. We definitely recommend it. It is cosy and clean. The owner is very nice, he took us by car to the shop, because the place is in the calmer place little bit further from the centre, but OK to walk. The breakfast were amazing too. Every part of this stay was incredible! Dato, the owner, was very friendly, welcoming and helpful! This lodge is incredible if you love hiking and want to explore the mountains surrounding it, and I wouldn’t miss out on the enchanting path that leads down to the river. It’s also an ideal distance from the center of Mestia. I really loved the food here both breakfast and dinner, where you’re served local/Georgian dishes. I can happily say that Ajapsandali is now my favourite, because of how deliciously it was prepared here. More than anything, if you’re looking for a city escape, you’ll be surrounded by the blissful sounds and scents of nature which are perfect for moments of tranquility. The surroundings are calm with breathtaking Mountain views. Also, if you take a stroll in the evening, you may be lucky to see fireflies which feels really special. I highly recommend this lodge for a solo traveler as well as families/ groups.
