We had the place to ourselves since we were the only guests. Cinzia, our host, met us to check us in and show us to our room. Because breakfast is not provided she very kindly drove us to a nearby supermarket to get some provisions and dropped us off again at the property. A complimentary bottle of estate grown wine and nibbles were very much appreciated by us and enjoyed in the downstairs guest lounge! A nearby pizzeria was able to provide GF pizza for our coeliac friend. We were able to leave our main luggage at the estate for a taxi driver to pick up later in the afternoon since our next destination wasn’t available for an early luggage drop off.

We loved Agriturismo La Cascina dei Chicchi and are extremely glad we chosed to stay there. Very beautiful place. Truly a hidden gem. The hosts are really friendly and helpful and make you feel like home. We recommend everyone to try their restaurant - the food is amazing and they give the best recommendations. The place feels very authentic with the sheep, chickens, dogs and cat.

Everything!!!! From the moment we walked in, we were welcomed with open arms!! The hosts Gabriel and Elizabeth were amazing!!! They spoilt us with complimentary snacks and drinks when we arrived, then when the heard we were walking the Via Francigena they gave a huge breakfast and packed lunch!!! Bless them!!! Elizabeth kindly brought our washing in when it was raining and dried it for us in her drying room. Ooh and they dropped us into town to start our day.Lovely place lovely people!!!

Amazing place, it is a very special experience to stay in a castle. You feel like a king or queen. Place is very clean and calm. Hosts are very nice and welcoming and they serve amazing local italian breakfast. We even had a tour of the castle to learn about the history of the place. I can definetly recommend this place. 10*

It was my best vacation in Italy. The accommodations are arranged in an old, renovated village with a large swimming pool. The village is surrounded by forests and meadows, sheep, horses and cows roam freely in the surroundings. Dogs are very welcome. The room was clean and comfortable with a kitchen and balcony. The mattress was very comfortable and you could sleep well. The breakfast is very good and plentiful. Dinner was beyond expectations - very tasty - kudos to the chef. The friendliness of the staff and the owner gives you a sense of security and acceptance, which is very important when traveling and on vacation. The owner Barbara is extremely friendly and ready to help the guest, but I also have to highlight the young girl who served at dinner (she comes from Milan, speaks very good English), who was extremely friendly, helpful and hardworking. The food they serve is grown on their property or from local sources. Tap water is drinkable. I highly, highly recommend a visit to Montagna Verde. I hope to return as soon as possible.
