brilliant, better than expected, they have thought of everything we could have wanted in a small property. we had a 1 bedroom on the edge with a deck that seemed to get a lot of sunshine, great for evening drinks. we also liked Matakana and the whole area

We had an absolutely amazing time at Riverside Matakana. The rooms were spacious and spotless, with great décor and crisp bed sheets on a comfy bed. The staff were attentive and went out of their way to ensure that we were comfortable. Nothing was too much trouble. The only disappointing thing was that the pillows were very thick and firm. I would have liked softer ones. Other than that, I can’t fault the place and will definitely go back. And stay longer.

We had a lovely stay at the Apple Cider Lodge watching the tides moving in and out, eating farmfresh eggs for breakfast, sipping cider as a sundowner and sleeping in heavenly beds.
