This place is a treasure. Challenging to find and have to meet the owner late in the afternoon or evening, but it simply one of the beautiful places we have ever stayed. It is a beautifully retored historic winery with the ancient press still crossing the ceiling of the dining area, with lovely stone walls.

Maria is an excellent hostess who speaks good english and made us feel very welcome, and always seemed to be on hand. The property is self-contained with everything needed to be self sufficient, with outdoor space for eating. It was very clean and comfortable, and Vila Franca has lots of character. The location was great for Lisbon and the many surrounding attractions in all directions.

Casal dos Mochos is a recently renovated apartment in Sobral de Monte Agraço, where guests can make the most of its infinity pool and garden.

Everything. The location, the accommodation, the pool, the attention to detail. We parked up the car for a few days, got an online taxi to Lisbon River cruise station. A FRS 2hr leisurely cruise on the river, hopped off for a lovely meal and back via train/taxi. Very relaxing and a surprisingly cheap day out. Also the Pizza/Pasta place in town was very good.

We had a wonderful stay in the Sleep In Bucelas. Esmeralda is a lovely and welcoming host. The specious room was clean, comfortable and well equipped. We also highly appreciated the extras of kettler, tea, fridge and dishes. If it wasn‘t the end of our vacations, we’d have extended our stay. If you are looking for a quite and relaxing place away from the hustle and bustle of the city this is your place. Nevertheless it’s not too far out to visit Lisbon either by car or as we did by public transport (bus & metro). Muito obrigada por nos ter convidado, Esmeralda!
