Dar Hamouda is a charming historical dar in the best and liveliest part of the Medina of Tunis. The rooms are beautifully decorated, the bed very comfortable, and the bathroom modern. The hosts (Mrs. Amel and her husband) were wonderful and very helpful. We particularly liked the joint breakfast where you could meet and talk to other guests at the dar. This is always a good opportunity to exchange experiences and meet people when travelling.

We had a wonderful stay! The host was very kind and welcoming, always available if needed. The house was perfect, exactly as shown in the pictures: clean, tidy, and very cozy. The hotel exceeded expectations. It offers 5-star service and room facilities, comfort and an excellent hammam offering a wonderful massage (and other services), as well as friendly and helpful staff. The quality of the room furnishings was of a high standard, the bathroom was immaculate, beautifully designed and stocked with toiletries. There was a wonderful welcome pack of snacks, chocolates, and even a range of tinned fish! The fridge was stocked with complimentary drinks, eggs, milk, and plenty of water. The hotel has lovely little outdoor spaces like the tranquil and beautiful courtyard with a fountain in the middle and a lovely roof terrace with views of the old city, where you can enjoy the tasty generous breakfast which consisted of a range of fresh pastries and cakes, omelette, cold meats, fresh seasonal fruit, gorgeous coffee, hot chocolate for the kids and lovely fresh juices. We left to go to hammamat for some days in a so-called “5 star” all inclusive resort and just wanted to go back to Dar Ben Turkia! If you want to be in the midst of the vibrant Medina with culture and history, as well as the hustle and bustle of the souk, while being able to escape to an intimate haven of luxury and comfort, this is the place for you!
