We all loved how the whole hotel had tatami flooring, it was very soft to walk on. The beds were very comfortable. The hair care products in the showers were very nice as well, I wish I could buy them. The private baths were incredible. They’re first come first serve but I never had to wait long to get into one. Also the staff was always so friendly, helpful, and nice.

On our last day we had the Japanese breakfast which was fantastically interesting and delicious. Very memorable thank you! The lounge experience - afternoon rea and pre-dinner cocktails was a wonderful experience. The snack items were delicious and the whole lounge experience was exceptional. Our room was fabulous. Roomy and very comfortable. Immaculate. For us train travelers the location was excellent. There is a train stop very close by.

Walking out of the hotel feels simply like an extension of the experience - beautiful streets with boutique shops and cosy restaurants. We especially loved the record player and curated album selection - a charming retro touch that made the room feel even more special. Also a great spot for digital nomads: the lobby feels like a trendy open-space co-working hub. Most people hanging out there aren’t even hotel guests! And when locals choose to spend time at your hotel, you know you’re doing something right. ProTip: like in many hotels, the laundry service isn't very "cost effective". But no worries! There are laundromats nearby, simply grab one of the (free!) guest bikes and do a quick trip. Laundromats in Japan are an attraction by their own.

The property is 1.8 km from the city centre and 400 metres from Gion Shijo Station. The bed was very comfortable, the room was spacious and had a tea table and a couch. It even had an area/room for the luggages/wardrobe. the toilet was big- a vanity area, separate toilet, shower and a bathtub tub.We booked a 3 single beds corner room which was very comfortable. Absolutely spacious and well thought of design. The breakfast was a good variety of western and Asian cuisine, and had fresh salad, and they also served food that’s locally grown/farmed. Hotel was also environmentally conscious providing refillable stainless water bottles and a water filling station on each floor. The bath products provided were also organic and gentle on the skin and hair. The location was perfect! It is right next to Takashimaya and approx 70 meters away from the main crossing. It’s on the quieter side of the busy area. There is a small grocery on the ground floor selling local and home grown food, and many organic fruits and veggies. The hotel also has a few restaurants. We were only able to try Roku- a ramen place and we really liked it. The patisserie in the hotel was always full- many locals also go there for dessert/tea time. Across the hotel is a famous gyoza place called Chao Chao which always had a long queue. This is the best hotel I’ve stayed in Japan! I’ve been to Japan many times and I highly recommend this if you’re going to Kyoto and want to be centrally located. I will stay in this hotel again when I go back to Kyoto. The staff are very helpful, warm and friendly. They helped me in making a reservation for the airport bus from Kyoto to Kansai airport in Osaka. They also booked a van taxi for us since there were 3 of us with luggages.

I't literally one minute walk from Kyoto Station, and somehow is in a quiet street. The lobby is a beautiful art installation. The room (and the bathroom!) was big and modern, everything was controlled with a built-in iPad Mini. But hands down the best feature of the hotel is the polite and friendly staff, going beyond even what you are accustomed to in Japan.
