Staff were incredibly friendly. Perfect location for the Quilotoa lake, only a short walk away from main view point and starting location for the hike. Bus dropped us right next to the hostel. Dinner and break was filling.

We were happily surprised by Chukirawa. The rooms were cosy and exceptionally warm with the wood stove, which allowed us to dry all our wet hiking gear. We even managed to get an electric heater overnight to keep our two little ones (1 and 3 yr olds) warm all night. The food was so good, and I highly recommend the vegetarian option (stuffed eggplant was amazing!). The breakfast was one of the best we had on the Quilitoa loop (note that breakfast is served upstairs!). I recommend spending a night here, as some people hiked for 7+ hours in torrential rain, and only got a view of the beautiful lagoon the following morning.

Nice surroundings, close to Quilotoa lagoon, very good meals, nice staff! It's cold at that altitude, but you'll get plenty of blankets to warm you at night, a hot shower and a place at the stove downstairs to warm you after a hike around the lagoon.
