A loving family runs this place. You won’t find a more accommodating and truly kind host than Sonny - always eager to secure your comfort or solve any matters of concern. There’s Stewart clan here and the place is beautifully dressed in antique collections. Michael (Sr.) is the chef and makes tasty dinners & yummy breakfasts. Both breakfast and dining rooms are spacious with lovely views of the yard. And yes, I got my cream for coffee and cereal! The twin room was compact, clean and quiet after the local crows finished their morning chat. Selkirk and surroundings have a lot to offer sightseers. Beautiful country. Sonny, you are a special person and Michael, Sr., thank you for sharing stories and making us feel special with your and Sonny’s gifts. PERFECT is the only term that can qualify this outstanding establishment : impoising and manor like exteriorly, but happily surrounded by beautiful ground and flowers. Warm welcome on arrival, fantastic, spacious room where no comfort or detail is missing, very good bed AND armchairs, very quiet. Spacious and pleasant bar and restaurant, and the best food we’ve had among the 10 hotels we’ve stayed at during our trip. It is truly wonderful to end our journey on such a wonderful note. Stable Cottage provided us with a truly delightful and relaxing stay. From the moment we arrived, we were impressed by the generous size of the cottage, offering ample space to unwind and feel at home. The interior decoration was a particular highlight, beautifully designed and creating a warm, inviting atmosphere. Comfort was clearly a priority, and we found the cottage to be exceptionally well-equipped and furnished. One of the standout features was the lovely garden, a true haven of tranquility. It proved to be an excellent addition, especially for those traveling with a dog, offering plenty of space to roam and enjoy the outdoors. The hosts were incredibly welcoming and informative, making us feel instantly at ease. Their helpfulness and attention to detail greatly enhanced our experience. They were readily available to answer any questions and provided valuable local recommendations.
