What a fabulous experience! It was one of these rare occasions when a 10 is not enough, the best Bed and Breakfast we stayed in over 2 months around the British Isles! Great price, ideal location and the epitome of hospitality. The owners made sure to take care of every detail: clean and functional rooms; good taste and elegance everywhere; generous welcoming treats in the room to make you feel at home; really home-made breakfast in a cosy environment and with abundance of very good quality, healthy and traditional tastes. An example to follow regarding hospitality!

Exceptional hosts in the owners, Scott and Lynn. From their kind offer of a pick up from Torquay station to the care and thought they put into their superb breakfasts, The Babbacombe Palms is a wonderful guest house. The rooms are impeccably clean, with attractive, fresh, contemporary decoration. And finally, the location, just a few minutes from the glorious Babbacombe Downs, make it an excellent choice for travellers in the area.

A perfect stay! It is a family run guest house and they extremely helpful & room was comfy and clean. Breakfast was cooked to perfection. The owner is also the chef so is a bonus! Thank you for making us feel home. We will be back again later this summer.

This guest house is more than the sum of its parts. It has something extra special. I believe this is due to its lovely owners. I will definitely be back.

What a little hidden gem!! I love the detail and thought of everything that went into the room and the needs of a solo traveler. First of all I turned up early at 10am, plenty of parking at the back of the hotel. Then my room was all ready so a bonus of an early check in, so I could dump all my stuff and go. Like I said I was a solo traveler so I had a single room on the bottom floor right next to the dining hall. For me the room was perfect, clean and comfortable with the extra added bonuses of a extra towel for my hair along with a full length mirror (‘little things in life), coffee and tea facilities, a cubby cupboard to store luggage, a mini fridge with a small bottle of water and a TV. The breakfast was outstanding, I basically had everything!! Porridge with Greek yogurt and fruit along with a great quality Full English. (photos to follow) Danny & Dolores were great hosts, answering all my questions and showing a general interest in my trip, along with them giving me a map to help me find my way round. Also your just a short few minutes walk down to the beach. If I had to give any niggle, it would be the bathroom could be a squeeze for the larger person, especially around the sink area. But I had no personal issues at all. Plus if you’re not an early riser (I am) you may get woken up via the light coming in via the shutter slats, and maybe by the lush smell of bacon coming through from the dinning room. The latter I really enjoyed as I knew I was in for a treat of a breakfast!! But these are the most little trivial things, and would not ever put me off staying again. I will 100% be back and I’ve recommended the Southbank Town House to all my friends and family, and as a quite hard to please ex travel representative. I’m impressed!!

We are a family with 2 girls 6 and 8 yrs, and stayed Start of September. Julia and Jamie were great hosts, very friendly and did everything to make our stay perfect. Amazing breakfast hot and cold choice. Rooms clean and spacious. Good mix of guests - families, young couples, pensioners, from UK and abroad. The pool was heated 29degrees and had plenty of Sun loungers, there was free parking. A short walk away from the seafront and lots of restaurants to choose from.

Lovely house with great hosts. The room, although not very big, had everything you need and the bed was very comfortable. The breakfast was very good, with a lot of choice. The hosts had good tips for eating and sight seeing.
