The list of positives of my 3 night stay at Thangkop House is a long one: Good wifi, hot showers (both of which are scarce in Ladakh), spacious, clean rooms with lovely views, seamless check-in process, hot tea and biscuits on arrival etc etc. But what made my stay at Thangkop House so memorable was the warmth, friendliness and helpfulness of the owners, Dolma and her son Wong. I had a million and one questions upon arrival as I needed help with planning my motorbike trip in Ladakh - not only did they patiently answer each question, but also organised my permits and motorbike for me, helped me plan the route, gave advice on the necessary provisions and stored my excess luggage during my 5 day trip. It is no exaggeration to say that were it not for them, my trip through Ladakh would not have been as memorable. Exceptional.

This property is in such an awesome location. Tucked away from the main roads. 5 minute walking distance to the main market. Easily accessible. The Mama who runs the place is natrually sooooo kind and genuine. She always has your best interests at heart and is willing to help with anything. The rooms are exceptionally clean and I can tell she takes pride in this. I loved it that they had a self service tea station always available. Even super early in the morning. We loved our stay, we even came back for another 3 nights after our motorbike adventure.

Best service from the staff and the owner was so Friendly and guided us the best route for our trip , food was just like home in affordable price and very helpful in every aspect, we had to stay another night in leh because we got late for our route , and they managed everything in just one call and we checked in 2.00 am in night and they still didn't charged us extra for that , and managed our dinner in that late night , also they have such a beautiful rooms with best mountain views , i would recommend everyone if you are going to leh and looking for a stay , must visit here once , you will feel like your own home .

Oogpa House is an amazing combination of the comforts of a Homestay with the luxury of a top hotel - details like incredible bed linen, squeaky clean bathrooms, balcony to gaze at the mountains! Tashi and Puntsok are so welcoming and helpful in orienting a first-timer in Ladakh like me - organising everything to make my trip go smoothly - permits, oxygen - and providing the perfect oasis of calm to overcome acclimatisation and jet lag. Tashi’s cooking is out of this world straight from her amazing garden. Delicious breakfast on the roof facing the Himalayas is the best breakfast I’ve ever had in years of travels. Oogpa House became my home in Ladakh where I would come back to each time before the next adventure. I can’t recommend it highly enough.
