The house is amazing, I was sad that I only spent one night there, it was a great experience to stay in a Japanese house, Assi was very friendly and welcoming, made me feel at home, helped me to get a restaurant as I arrived late, and gave suggestion for my breakfast next morning.I definitely recommend this place. This was an ideal place to stay in Nakatsugawa. Location is great - 10 minute walk to train station/bus depot; grocery stores and restaurants nearby. Quiet residential street. Super clean and tidy! Host replied to my few questions quickly. Our room had plenty of storage. I appreciated the all cotton towels. Easy walking access to the Nakasendo Way for our day walk from Nakatsugawa to Magome. And especially delightful was the lovely woman who was our host.

First was hesitant to book because the accommodation had only two reviews on Booking.com back then. Thankfully got proven so wrong as soon we arrived at the location and got greeted by the landlord. It's a hidden gem! The house is located in close proximity to the Ena stage of the famous Japan Rally thus the house (and because the owner is a huge fan) is themed around it. Both the next convenience store and train station are located 3km away in Akechi. Arriving by car is your best option and parking is provided for free on the property. The house and rooms are traditional Japanese-style and bedding is provided in western-style. The room and all facilities were absolutely clean and well maintained. Labels and signage are even provided in English. Despite the shoji doors we had no issues with noise during the night. The spa with the newly installed sauna and outdoor hot bath is plenty for this accommodation. Toothbrush, razors and Q-tips are provided in the shared bathroom. Although check-in is only possible until 8pm the owner thankfully accommodated us warmly after arriving late. He even pre-heated our room and the sauna for us which was a great gesture as after we got caught in a thunderstorm on our motorcycles. Will definitely come back here the next time I return to Gifu prefecture!
