The view. The cleanliness. The value for money. The staff. Almost everything. I stayed there for 2 weeks last February. I liked the hotel a lot. The staff are very friendly and helpful. Hashan the owner treated us as his own guests. He is very generous and hospitable. The food was very delicious and authentic. Haputale is very calm place and less touristy than Ella. I loved it more than Ella. It is surrounded by tea plantations, and very ery close to Horton Plains and Lipton’s seat. The hotel arranged trips for us to those places and to Udawalawe National Park. The roads around the hotel are great for trekking.

We highly recommend Nilowin Glenanore Guesthouse!!! We had such a lovely stay there! It was recommended from a friend and it surely didn’t disappoint! The family that runs it are super nice and helpful. Breakfast was amazing - the yummiest egg hopers we’ve had in Srilanka. The room was lovely with a great view. And what we enjoyed most - was their cooking class!! They’ve created a lovely, homely kitchen where the cooking class happens. Very informative and fun cooking class. We truly enjoyed it. Our three daughters got involved in everything we were preparing and everything was delicious!!! Thank you so much! Id be happy to come back tomorrow :)

We stayed here for a few days during our motorcycle trip through the hill country, and honestly, it felt like a hidden gem. From the outside, it doesn’t look like much, but once you step in the room, it’s a true “backpacker’s posh” – everything is thoughtfully designed, with every little detail fit for western traveler – a rare find in Asia, if you know what I mean. Our room was spacious and clean, with plenty of hooks and storage for gear. The bathroom was excellent, with a separate shower space and even proper shampoo and shower gel. The balcony was a standout too, offering breathtaking views that we couldn’t get enough of. The location is great – peaceful, sheltered from the wind, and away from city noise, yet just a short walk up the shortcut stairs to hilltop - the stairs are on the left side of the Southern View Holiday Resort if you come down. The garden is lovely, full of flowers and cozy plants, and the large lobby downstairs is perfect for meeting fellow travelers or just relaxing with a book. It really has the spirit of a mountain hiking lodge. Breakfast was a feast: fried eggs, toast, jam, fresh fruits, yogurt, rotis, and really good coffee. I couldn’t even finish it all and ended up packing some for our hike. The owners are wonderful – friendly, helpful, and genuinely thoughtful. Overall, a wonderful stay – big thanks for creating such a welcoming spot!

We loved this stay so much. Laurie and Dima are such a welcoming and attentive couple who gave the best advice and helped us have a wonderful time in Haputale. We felt very comfortable and well taken care of and the food was the best (with never-ending refills and a Sri lankan eating lesson <3)! The room was comfy and the mountain view stunning! I recommend this place so dearly and I wish we could have stayed longer. Thank you so much for having us!!

Wow! I only have great things to say about this place. The clean, great location and hospitality of the room was incredible. The lovely lady, Kalai, who owns the property is incredibly sweet and humorous. I was the only guest staying here for 2 nights and she treated me as part of her family - even making me breakfast on the day I checked out. I 100% recommend this stay to any other traveller. You can also rent a scooter for a small fee to explore further outside of town.

Our stay was absolutely magical! The hospitality was outstanding. [Begum], sorry if I wrote it wrong, was incredibly welcoming and kind. Her behavior was absolutely exceptional, and she spoke English very well, which made everything so easy. It truly felt like a privilege to stay with her. One of the rare people who made us feel completely safe and cared for, without any pressure or intention to make money off us!!She always recommended the best options for our trips, ensuring we had the best experience. The food was delicious— Begum is an excellent cook, and I highly recommend trying her meals! The room was clean, with a comfortable bed. Our private shower was just across our room. The place was great with amazing views and a calm atmosphere. You hardly ever hear any vehicle traffic. You could hear a lot of birds, especially in the morning. The staff did an amazing job to make us comfortable and made us delicious meals. The owner, Muni lives next door and was very responsive to all our questions and requests. The villas themselves are very nicely designed, built and decorated. Everything was very thoughtfully done. Great place to wind down and get in touch with nature.

We loved our stay at White Monkey. The views are breathtaking and constantly change with the light and the weather. We saw so many birds and monkeys. The family made us feel so welcome, the kids loved it. It was only a short drive to Liptons seat and you can do a walk directly from the hotel to Eagle rock viewpoint. The food was incredible too. Also at the top of the drive is Frankie's hut with chocolate samosas!
