Guest Houses in Unawatuna

We stayed at the tiny royal Palace as a family of 4. They had arranged 2 separate rooms with double beds and access to a common kitchen. The location of this property is walkable distance from a small beach and 10 min tuk tuk ride from unawatuna Beach. The owner was very friendly and was happy to take us everywhere which was very helpful and convenient for us. His charges were very affordable and he was always available for us whenever we needed it.was extremely He took us to both the beaches and for meals at various restaurants for the 2 days that we were there. The last day, his wife made a very authentic and scrumptious lunch for us which was loved by all! We highly would recommend this place in unawatuna tucked slightly away from the regular touristy accommodations!

So far, the best guesthouse I've stayed in. The place is clean, the room is big and comfortable with everything you need - there’s even a kitchen & a watching machine. Also there is a nice balcony where I loved to stay!! You can sit, cool down and relax while watch the surrounding wildlife. The hosts are extremely kind and helpful. The breakfast they prepared was excellent! Truly, a perfect place to rest in Unawatuna, away from the crowds. I couldn't have wished for a better place to stay. Thank you for everything!

So cozy, clean, comfortable and nice place, green garden, calm and in side from the noise of the main street, at the same time not so far away from the beach and a lot of nice areas and restaurants. There were fridge and tea pot, place to work. And the hospitality was really great. If i come back again to Unawatuna i will stay there again.

An excellent place – very close to the center of the tourist area, yet nestled in the perfect tranquility of the jungle. During the day, it’s easy to walk to all the most interesting spots in town, while at night, you can enjoy the peace and the sounds of nature. It’s perfect for those who love an active day but prefer to relax in quiet surroundings in the evening. The room is very spacious, cozy and clean, with a super comfortable bed. Housekeeping is frequent, with regular changes of bed linens and towels – a very nice level of comfort. The hotel staff speaks English well and are incredibly kind and helpful, always ready to assist with any questions or requests. The property is lush with greenery and offers a great view of a nearby rock formation (mountain). I especially appreciated the drying rack for clothes. The room had all the necessary amenities, and everything worked without any issues. The balcony is very cozy and a fantastic spot to relax in the evening. Overall, everything was great – the hotel is definitely worth its price. I highly recommend this place!

Nice accommodation, 5 minutes from the sea. Spacious, clean room with balcony and garden view. Large bathroom. Cleaning was done every day, there were beach towels. There were bags of coffee and tea and also 2 large bottles of free water every day. The staff are friendly and very helpful. I would recommend this accommodation.

We have been staying at this hotel for a week and have already extended our stay by a month. You won't find better service in Sri Lanka. The manager Chandana and all the staff are the friendliest people I have ever met. Any request will be fulfilled as soon as possible. Everything you ask for is available. Breakfast is included in the price, the table is not extensive, but every day the staff comes up with something new. For lunch and dinner you can choose a dish from the menu, the portions are huge for an average price! Every evening fresh fish is prepared for us, we buy it by ourselves at the local market. We pay quite a bit and get a delicious dinner right in the room. The hotel is on a hill which makes the views even better. There are many zones on a very well-groomed territory, a reception with a hammock and a large sofa, a dining area, a garden, a swimming pool, verandas near the room, bar. There are monitor lizards, squirrels, birds, sometimes monkeys appear) The staff also monitors their behavior! It’s not close to the ocean, but the road on a scooter takes 5-7 minutes, we don’t feel it at all. There is a great opportunity to enjoy the beauty of the island. Chandana also provided me with a new, beautiful scooter, at a low price for the island. We don’t feel much insects, everything is as it should be within the island. In addition, cute lizards live near the room doing their work so The room is spacious, very high stylish ceilings, minimalistic renovation. The room has a kettle, a refrigerator that freezes perfectly, TV, air conditioning. There is a laundry service, they will wash your clothes for minimal price. Undoubtedly the warmest welcome we have experienced in many years of holidays.. Owner Melani, her husband and their staff (Bavee is a real hero) are so friendly and really do everything to make you feel at home. Our apartment was very spacious and very tastefully decorated. The garden is a gem. Breakfast and dinner are very tasty. The only downside I can mention is that the sun loungers by the pool need replacing. The villa is quietly located, 5 minutes by tuktuk to the center of Unawatuna or the beaches (the hotel's tuktuk service costs you 600 LKR). We are at the beginning of our roundtrip through Sri Lanka. Still 8 hotels to go but we fear that the best stay is already behind us: the fantastic Villa Gaetano!
