Warm and welcoming guest houses are ideal for travellers who prefer unfussy accommodation with a personal touch. They are usually family-run, and your host will provide local recommendations and optional meals. Often cheaper than regular hotels, guest houses can also feature a cosy living room and a garden.

The location not as expected and the residence is unique. Where do you go to a retreat and find one of the largest trees in South Africa. Marietjie the hostess was wonderful and only regret not spending more time with her and her incredible library of books

A hidden gem run by the friendliest people who literally cannot do enough for you
We used it as a stopover for 2 nights and it was unforgettable……… it’s hard to put into words how quaint and beautiful this place is
Marikje is the perfect kindest hostess you could wish for, if I could give it 20 stars out of 10 I would do
We were a family of 2 adults, 18 and 15 year old and booked the cottage
Just really cool and a unique experience
