Abergavenny
A recently renovated guest house set in Abergavenny, Park Lane Rooms features a garden. This property offers access to a balcony, free private parking and free WiFi. The property offers allergy-free units and is located 49 km from University of South Wales - Cardiff Campus. Very clean and comfortable. What I would describe as a really neat space. Had everything we needed. Host was very accommodating - our arrival time was later than we planned so I was concerned about causing any inconvenience, I messaged ahead as soon as I could and was very reassured.
Clyro
Baskerville House, a property with a shared lounge, is located in Clyro, 48 km from Elan Valley, 6.1 km from Clifford Castle, as well as 13 km from Kinnersley Castle. This guest house provides free private parking and private check-in and check-out. Longtown Castle is 21 km away and Brecon Cathedral is 26 km from the guest house. Lovely place to stay, house is exceptional, the breakfast was delicious, and the hosts could not be friendlier or more hospitable; both made me feel very welcome.
Pen-y-cae
The units at the inn come with a seating area, a flat-screen TV with satellite channels and a private bathroom with free toiletries and a shower. The Ancient Briton provides certain units with mountain views, and all rooms are fitted with a kettle. The Ancient Briton was one of the best B&Bs we stayed at during our 2.5-week trip through the UK. The staff, rooms, food, and overall atmosphere exceeded our expectations. The building is old but tastefully refurbished. While some stairways are narrow and dim (a bit of a challenge with luggage), the rooms were comfortable, well-equipped, and even featured unique plaster ceiling designs that gave them real character. The staff was outstanding. The woman who managed breakfast each morning (I wish I remembered her name) was especially wonderful—warm, attentive, and full of local tips. Thanks to her, we discovered the Red Kite Feeding Station in Llanddeusant, which turned out to be a highlight of our trip. The pub downstairs is lively and welcoming, with excellent food and a friendly mix of locals. It does get busy in the evenings, but even as a party of six, we were always accommodated.
Abergavenny
Located in Abergavenny and only 15 km from Longtown Castle, Deri-Down Guest House provides accommodation with mountain views, free WiFi and free private parking. The property features quiet street views. The accommodation features full-day security and private check-in and check-out for guests. This is a family-run guesthouse which has been very nicely renovated. We booked 2 rooms which are on the 1st floor (not ground floor) so there's a short flight of stairs to contend with. The host was very welcoming and helped us with our luggages up the flight of stairs. They provided extras (eg. the bath had a brandnew bath sponge for our use) which we were not expecting and really made the place memorable. The rooms were comfortable, clean and spacious. Just for information, the double room has a bathtub and small fridge (the twin room only has a shower and no fridge). I would book again if I was in Abergavenny.
Glasbury
Boasting a garden and views of river, Aberllynfi Riverside Guest House is a bed and breakfast set in a historic building in Glasbury, 45 km from Elan Valley. The room had character but was tastefully decorated. The entrance and staircase is incredible! Breakfast was top notch. It was a great stay.
Merthyr Tydfil
Boasting a tennis court and views of mountain, James' Place at Brynawel is a guest house set in a historic building in Merthyr Tydfil, 37 km from Cardiff University. Both free WiFi and parking on-site are accessible at the guest house free of charge. Cardiff Castle is 39 km from the guest house and Principality Stadium is 39 km away. We couldn't asked for a better place to stay, warming studio with very comfy bed and the view from our windows were amazing. There's plenty of shops/pubs within 10min walk from James place. We forgot to thank you for the lovely Wales cakes James. We certainly coming back!!! It was perfect! Highly recommended. Thank you so much James& family.

Really peaceful atmosphere
Sennybridge
The guest house provides guests with a patio, mountain views, a seating area, a flat-screen TV, a fully equipped kitchen with a dishwasher and an oven, and a private bathroom with shower and bathrobes. A microwave, a toaster and fridge are also provided, as well as a coffee machine and a kettle. At the guest house, all units come with bed linen and towels. Full English breakfast was superb and very filling! Orange juice and tea also available, with top-ups if required. Cereals also offered, but declined as our cooked breakfast was more than sufficient. The accommodation was much better than expected: bedroom large, comfortable bed, shower room modern and clean. We also made use of the very large lounge area, with its comfortable seating and TV. Dining area had lovely rural views. The owners made us feel very welcome, so much so that we hope to go back!

This property is located in a peaceful area of outstanding natural beauty beauty. It is clean, quiet and has all one requires for a comfortable stay. Well positioned in a rural area yesterday close to nearby towns . Richard, the host, is both charming and knowledgeable, providing a hearty breakfast too. Thank you for a lovely stay.
Great location, very comfortable, easy secure parking for motorcycles, very motorcycle friendly. Very comfortable beds, quiet location but a few minutes walk to the heart of town. The 'star of the show' is Gail the host who greets you with a warm smile every day and made our stay so enjoyable. Gail is also a great cook and puts together a delicious breakfast. Nothing was too much trouble.
Great location, lovely quiet spot. Very clean and comfortable. Well equipped throughout the house. Good base for exploring the area. Excellent pubs around the corner (literally) with great food. The host Elaine is lovely and very helpful. We thoroughly recommend this place to all.
Lovely bed and breakfast, hosts were very friendly and helpful, very comfortable beds and a really good choice of cereals at breakfast, about 10 minutes walk into the town centre and a great little pub 3 doors away that serve excellent food, this is our second visit to this guesthouse and won't be our last.
Immaculately clean, very tastefully decorated. Great location and extremely charming host.
Host Margaret was very helpful. The room had everything and it all worked. Location close to the city centre and a big Morrisons for provisions. Nice and quiet. Near a nice park.
Clean and cozy cottage, close to numerous attractions and local.amenities. Great hosts and great location, very good wifi.
Quiet and comfy room in a great location. Owners were very welcoming and great hosts.
Charming hosts of an elegant house beautifully decorated, comfortable and well appointed - it has the wow factor. It's situated in Clyro, a quiet, quaint village roughly 20 minutes walk away from Hay-on-Wye. Breakfast was a delight, and they served a tasty vegetarian, gluten-free breakfast for my daughter.
