The guesthouse is absolutely beautiful. It’s in a more remote location, so it’s very peaceful. The couple running たね are so very kind, and their cooking is exceptional. Breakfast was so delicious. We wish we spoke better Japanese so we could have talked more. They were such interesting people.

The location and owners make this homestay special. The latter is at the foot of a historic and important Buddhist shrine and resting place of Kato Kiyomasa, builder of the Kumamoto Castle, while the former are generations-old family of soba makers. While breakfast didn't come with soba, it was one of the best I've eaten in Japan. The space is comfortable, traditional and has everything you may need, including excellent views of the city.

C’était simplement parfait ! L’emplacement est super, on peut faire beaucoup de choses à pied. L’auberge en elle même est sublime ! La décoration comporte des tonnes de détails amusant et originaux. Cest un endroit rempli de personnalité. C’était très reposant comparé aux auberges classiques et la dame qui accueille est adorable !!! Foncez !

Very beautiful, clean guesthouse that was renovated from an old japanese home. The owners are both very kind and went out of their way to make my stay as nice as possible. You can tell that they really care about this place! Aso station (startpoint for the tour bus) can be reached in around 20 mins with bus or train. At night it is quiet and even in the summer surprisingly cool. I highly recommend to stay here if you are visiting Aso!

The host, which I was allowed to call Rio is super nice and welcoming. And as a young traveler he created a very safe and calm atmosphere. The hostel was super comfortable, clean and had everything I needed. Kikuchi is such a nice place with many beautiful spots around the area. I rented a bike from Rio and drove around on my first day, and I was positively overwhelmed by the beauty of the nature! I can recommend to go here!:)

Bien accueilli - super petit-déjeuner japonais fait maison et copieux - calme dans la maison et environnement extérieur - j’ai eu droit à une chambre avec 2 petits lits et un grand salon/bureau le tout séparé. C’était au RDC. Une cuisine/salle de bain et des wc partagés au RDC. J’ai pu communiquer avec le couple , sont très gentil et donnent de bonnes infos touristiques. Je reviendrai avec un grand plaisir pour rester plus de temps. Il faut absolument une voiture pour s’y rendre. Je n’ai pas vérifier les autres moyens de transport

L’hébergement Ukishimakan Bettei Guest House - Vacation STAY 14350 se trouve à Shimo-rokka, à respectivement 10 km, 11 km et 13 km de ces lieux d’intérêt : Château de Kumamoto, Résidence Hosokawa... Very welcoming people, extremely beautiful and confortable guest house, filled with works of art. A bit away from the city but very relaxing and quiet. Thank you again for your warm welcome and for your help, we had a wonderful time at your place!
