Excellent guest house, I highly recommend the view for your stay in Padang or Mentawai. Robert (British) picked me up from the airport for 250,000 idr. The guest house is located a few minutes from the town centre and the Mentawai ferry port. It is on the hill side, 100m above the beach with an incredible view of the ocean. The sunsets are magnificent. Unlike the city centre, the place is very quiet so you can sleep very well. The rooms are very clean and bright and the largest room upstairs has a balcony with a breathtaking view. One room has its own bathroom and the shared bathroom is spacious, clean and has a real shower with hot water. I was supposed to stay for 2 days, I went back for another 10 days. You can rent a scooter at the guest house or ask Robert to take you somewhere (leaving a tip is always good). You can use the washing machine for free. Coffee, tea and hot and cold water are free as well . You can eat on the premises or in the restaurants on the street. There is a choice of breakfast (Indonesian or continental). Robert and his wife are very welcoming and accommodating and does his best to make your stay as pleasant as possible. So after having stayed in several hotels in Padang, I will only come back here.

The homestay was very clean and the room was comfortable and equipped with a fan and a key There is a kitchen and 2 showers that are simple but very clean and easy to use

I originally planned to stay at Secret Surf Camp for just two days but ended up extending to a whole week. The atmosphere is peaceful and calm, cozy environment that makes you feel like at home. The owners and the team working there are so kind and welcoming, adding extra bonus to the place. If you are looking for a relaxing escape with great vibes this is the perfect spot. We very like this homestay where we stayed 4nights. Easy to communicate in English with Feby, our super host who helped us in many ways : sim card, atm, taxi driver, laundry,... The guesthouse is very nice with garden, secure parking, a lot of place for kids can play, ... kitchen, fridge, air con, laudry available. The room was confortable with big bed and the pillow and bed sheets were so soft and confortable. All is perfect. We will come back again!
