The location is wonderful, in the middle of rice paddies, viewing Borobodur in the background. The staff is exceptional and took us to a local archery event that was just great. The rooms are very comfortable and the breakfast is good. We rided the resort bicycles to discover the surroundings and we had a great day.

The host picked us up from the airport. The plane was delayed and we arrived at the airport very late. We were very hungry. On the way back to the hotel, he took us to have a bowl of amazing chicken soup. The hotel is nice and beautiful, carefully decorated every corner, well consider and well equipped. The owner is very warm and welcoming. It is a beautiful hotel very close to Borobudur. I will recommend it to everyone.

That it is right in the middle of rice-fields. One may stay here just to relax and live /relive a relaxed village life. The homestay is gorgeous with Buddha statues and other statues, cobbled paths. Sit on the benches and see an old man guiding his flock of very disciplined ducks from the fields to back home; small boys flying kites; wake up to the sound of birds and go to sleep to the sound of either frogs/ lizards(could not make out what was it😄). Cycle the nearby villages with green fields on either side; locals cheerfully wishing you; you can cycle to Borobodur too / walk to the placs. cycles are provided by Rumah Dharma. They also arrange tickets for you for Borobodur. Do remember climbing the temple is not open on Mondays. The rooms are spacious, the bathrooms even more spacious. The staff is very welcoming. You enjoy local food. They arranged a very good driver/car for airport pickup/dropoff; visit to Prambanan and Mount Merapi. What I also enjoyed is unlike hotels, all the guests were sitting in the open areas, playing board games, chatting with other guests. We absolutely loved our stay here. A warm shoutout to the staff who were excellent!

It's impossible to feel more welcome then here. Not only are Ika and Yani very hospitable and lovely people, they have a true and genuine passion for what they do. Ika provides you with all the info you can possibly need and will never grow tired answering your questions. The room is comfortable, clean and has a good and quiet airco and hot shower (but you probably want a cold shower). Yani makes you a delicious breakfast. Very highly recommended! Location is really convenient to visit the temple and the surroundings. Really peaceful location, you can enjoy the garden with view on the volcanoes (if not too cloudy :) Really nice hosts. Breakfast was excellent. We received good advices for the next step of our journey.

    If you want to spend time in Borobudur with local hospitality, wellcome to Efata Homestay! It can be a good idea to stay there for a few days and see not only Borobudur temple (don’t forget to buy a ticket online in advance), but also another temples, rice fields and a life of local people. The homestay is close to the main road, but in a quiet place. All what you need is on a walking distance - the temple, restaurants, shops etc. Owners can help you with everything what you need.     It was great homestay to stay, super strategic location near Borobudur (just walking 4 minute) Great hospitality by the host Mr ika 🤗 Thx u for your warm kindness during our stay. Very recommended place to stay when you are in magelang, the room was clean and comfortable, clean bathroom with water heater, the service was amazing thx u so much 🙏

    This homestay is amazing, we didn’t want to leave! Is in front of the temple in very centre location but when you go inside the property you don’t listen any noise, so peaceful and calm! Perfect to relax in the beautiful common areas. The bedroom and the bathroom is also very comfortable and clean. And the owner so kind ! Thank you so much

    The best part of Efata Homestay cannot be seen in any photo or description. It is the big heart and the great hospitality of the hosts. It was a great stay with a very clean room and we would have loved to stay longer. I recommend everyone to stay several nights and also to explore the area. I can only recommend the accommodation to anyone who would like to stay in a lovely, authentic homestay.

    The owner and his son were so friendly to me. Felt more like a homestay or a couch surfing and was very natural hanging out with them. They gave me some great info on viewing sunrise and visiting the temple. And they also offered me coffee whenever I saw them. Definitely gave me some warm feelings. The homestay is also incredibly close to borobudur.

    I am grateful to have stayed at Efata homestay. Ika and his wife were extremely welcoming, friendly and helpful. They helped me with information for tickets to Borobudur, Ika himself accompanied me to the Temple and shared insightful information with me. The place is well located, cozy and very quiet. The garden is impressive. Highly recommended.

    Ika und Yanni are exceptionally nice people and made my stay truly memorable. They helped me with everything. Ika even accompanied me to the temple and gave me some first-hand information. Moreover he did a bicycle tour with me and showed me a mushroom and honey manufacture and also took me on his motorbike to Candi Mendut. The breakfast was delicious and every afternoon I got coffee and sweets. The homestay is in walking distance to the temple and city centre.

    I had a great stay at Griyo Jagalan. Friendly Mr Berman and his mum take good care of the room. It was very clean and comfortable. It is homestay in a little fruit orchard. I didn't see any mosquitoes. This is the nearest homestay to the main gate of Borobudur. Yes. NEAREST.
