Good location, several OK restaurants nearby. Beware of the junk food outlets. Walking is feasible in Magelang! Little side streets are peaceful. Not that there is much to see or do here, but two jumbo volcanoes loom nearby and can be visited. Rooms are clean but on the bleak side. Bathroom basic. Efficient new AC. Slept well. McDonald's close but Coffeeville down the road is much nicer.

The location could not be better: The hotel is in a really quiet neighborhood, surrounded by rice fields, and from the dining area, one has great sunset views on Borobudur Temple. At the same time, it is only a 10-minute walk to the temple. Alternatively, you can hire bikes at the hotel. If you are willing to pay the extra cost, the hotel will arrange transfer from/to the train station or airport in Yogyakarta. They will also help to arrange tours. The rooms are in traditional Javanese houses with traditional room styles. There are mosquito nets and the beds are comfortable, and everything is spotlessly clean. The food is delicious and better than everything you will get in restaurants in town. They can cook both Western food and Indonesian food. Go for the Indonesian dishes - we were there several days and they made different dishes every day in order to give us an insight in Indonesian cuisine. Finally, the staff is superfriendly. Everyone is fluent in English, and the owner is also fluent in German, as she lived in Germany for 16 years. All in all, a rare treat and a perfect stay - if rooms are available, grab them!

Wonderful staff and a great spot to stay for a night if you are visiting Borobudur. The staff organized a driver to take us at 4:30 AM to Punthuk Setumbu to watch the sunrise (lower your expectations – it’s not that impressive). We also used that time to visit the ‘Chicken Church’ (which is actually a pigeon), and afterward, we had an Indonesian breakfast. From there, we walked for about 10 minutes to reach Borobudur’s gate, where we bought the 8:30 AM climbing ticket, which I strongly recommend due to the heat.

Bobby the owner is a beauty. He really goes above and beyond for you. He hasn't overwhelmed him self for extra money and focuses his attention on his select few guests. It's a great recipe. The property is gorgeous for being so small and it's perfect place to chill out

Very friendly and accommodating staff, absolutely lovely setting, delicious food, free bikes to use around the area. We booked this place as an emergency after our original booking was an utter disaster and are so glad that we did! 10/10 would come again!
