Homestays in Kallār

This weekend we had a family drive to Ponmudi, seeking some peaceful moments away from the usual busy life. Ponmudi Dale is Mr. Biju's homestay in Kallar, en route to Ponmudi hill station which is another 15 kilometers up ahead. The homestay is located on the roadside itself, and has a scenic backyard that gives a tranquil atmosphere, complemented by the soothing Kallar river stream. The place is very quiet and has an uncrowded neighbourhood. We felt safe staying there. Spending time on the river side in the evening and early morning was a memorable experience. The homestay's top floor has a balcony kind of set up which is a small dining place with two additional beds. I liked to sleep there rather than the AC room, as you don't need AC there in the night, and can sleep peacefully by listening to the sound of the flowing river in the background. Owner Biju's hospitality was exceptional, making the stay enjoyable. There is a small "Santhamma Thattukada" nearby, they give fresh homely meals on banana leaf. Overall we had a very pleasant and relaxing experience at Ponmudi Dale.

It was lovely to escape the hustle and bustle of Indian cities, and the staff are really wonderful here especially RadahKrishnan. food was the best we’ve had so far in India. I highly recommend the Kerala veg lunch. staff are very kind to help us arrange a taxi for a trip to the elephant sanctuary and also to Trivandrum. Wi-Fi is great.

The rooms are always clean, the food and amenities are amazing, Host is always there for you, arrangements for transportation, food is always available by host.

Super location, quiet and green surrounding. Very private place. Only 2 rooms and a separate kitchen to be used by guests, good wi-fi.
