Very elegant Japanese style house. I had it to myself as no one else was staying. The breakfast was the most delicious wholefood bento from a local cafe. The bed was really comfortable. Very nice and quiet. It's kind of a nice combination of a luxurious atmosphere, excellent decor but with aspects of a budget hostel feel. (No private bathroom only showers). It would be nice in summer as there is a big tatami room with a view of the garden. This was the guest house annexe not the main loop hotel.

Beautiful house in a beautiful location. Kitchen very well equipped. The host is very kind and helpful. If you want to visit the Aso area this is the place to stay!

Yuko, the proprietor, took such good care of me and made sure I was always comfortable. She also arranged for me to make some pottery and for one of her friends to take me to the top of the nearby Mount Karakuni, trekking past active, smoking volcanoes! From the top it's possible to see Mount Shinmoedake, the volcano from the James Bond film 'You Only Live Twice'!! We also had an impromptu karaoke session with some of her friends! A fabulous couple of days in a spectacularly gorgeous part of the World with a wonderful host!

Clean, spacious and comfortable. This accommodation has character. We enjoyed it thoroughly and wished we could have stayed longer.
