Guest House Ouka was amazing! We really felt comfortable there and the staffs/owners were super lovely with us. We can’t recommend enough their hospitality. We booked the Japanese-style room and we loved it. The room was spacious and it was super clean, tidy and comfortable.

It’s a single apartment not far from Morning markets. Fab location. Super comfy bed! It’s two levels so if you can’t do stairs, it’s not a good option as bathroom is downstairs. Loved the poem and artwork on walls. Very beautiful And thoughtful ❤️

Amazing location between the bus station/train station and the old town, close to lots of restaurant options. Incredibly clean (the shower absolutely sparkled!) and spacious for two people. Sleeping in the loft was quite warm in July, even with the AC on, but that is no fault of the property, just something to note. We really appreciated having a washer/dryer! Detergent was already preloaded in the machine, so we didn’t need our own.

    Lovely host. Was very welcoming and the rooms were very clean and felt traditional. They let us leave our bags there after we had checked out so we could explore Takayama more which was nice. Well located within a short walk from stores, the bus station and the nice areas with all the little shops.
