We stayed here on our way to Ella whilst on a cycle tour. We had an exceptionally warm welcome and were given a fabulous meal in the evening - the best food we’ve had in Sri Lanka (and there’s been plenty!). It’s a lovely peaceful spot and there was plenty of wildlife to see from the terrace.

This is one of the newest and safest villas in the area, and from the moment we arrived, we felt completely at home. We stayed for 2 nights, and what made this place even more special is that we were their very first guests — what an honor! 🙏 The family running the villa is super friendly, warm, and caring. That’s the best hostel we stayed in Sri Lanka 😊 They organised us a tuk tuk to go to Horton plains for a very reasonable price and you can also eat in the hostel, they serve a big buffet that it’s impossible to finish. The terrace is a nice place to chill and there is birds, lizards and monkeys around. They also very nice family with a friendly dog.

Staying at Sana’s Homestay was a really lovely part of our time in Sri Lanka. From the moment we arrived, the hospitality was outstanding—Sana and his family were so kind and thoughtful. His mother is an amazing cook, and her tea quickly became our favorite! The room was perfect for us: clean, cozy, with a private bathroom and its own entrance, which made it feel like our own little retreat. The views from the property are absolutely breathtaking—waking up to the misty hills of Haputale was unforgettable. Few things to note: • The road to the homestay isn’t well marked on Google Maps, so it’s best to contact as you get close—the host is super helpful and will make sure you find it without any trouble. • There is parking if you have a tuktuk or bike • There are a few up steps to get to the property. If you're after a quiet, scenic, and genuine experience in the hill country, this is the place!
