She’s also the cook and we would slurp up everything she prepares. The calm and serene vibe this accommodation gives makes one wants to stay longer :) our first day we did a night walk of Simatai section Great Wall that included the cable car (expensive! But enjoyable)… second day we hiked up the wild Great Wall. I felt this pace was slow and lovely for my younger children.

This section of the great wall is so quiet that we have the whole place to ourselves. It is also not very restored so you get to see some of the original wall. They also cooked fresh food from their garden for us. I have been to Beijing twice and did all the major tourist spots. I have to say staying here and hiking the wall in peace is my best Beijing experience.
