Our hosts together made our stay. Sele is a very experienced guide who organized everything for us. He's a fun guy, he's humble and he has a great singing voice. Thank you! Sai cooks from her heart. Her food is tasty and generous... thank you! Milly is fun and friendly...she has a crazy giggly laugh and we enjoyed her happy personality..I'll miss you...."Aunty......Milly" Male, thanks for taking Michael spear fishing. Kara, loved your fish and breadfruit, and thanks for putting aloe on my sunburned legs. Our activities: Saturday - beach picnic, fish feeding and Michael went spear fishing with Male. I snorkelled to my heart's content on Nanuya beach. My highlight was seeing several anemone fish and their homes, and one coral reef was 'clicking' lots and dazzlingly spectacular with its hundreds of little fishies. Sunday - a leisurely day of rest spent with a walk to the village before attending Church. Thank you for allowing us to visit and we enjoyed worshipping at Church. Your singing was awesome. Monday - out in the tinny for a long ride to the Caves for a fun experience. Loved it all, especially the papaya on the way back. Home life: At Ravita we shared the guesthouse with 3 other guests and 2 of our hosts so there's a family feel to the stay. At night the stars are shining bright and the frogs are out on the back lawn.

Everyone in the village greets you and is curious to talk to you. We got a fresh coconut cut by one of the locals and played around with the kids. We also went to snorkel with the manta rays which was an amazing experience.

The sunrise is astonishing, orange glow half hour before sunrise followed with spectacular sunrise. The host is very friendly, attentive, worked in high end resort and it shows in food quality, presentation and in general how he treats his guest. The people in village are also very friendly. The host provided us with well priced boat transfer to the nearby Nacula Island. He arranged kayak rental, provided detailed instruction for hike to the Blue Lagoon. That easy hike is featured by fascinating views of green island mixed with palette of blue and turquoise ocean water colour.

The accommodation provides a 24-hour front desk, free shuttle service and luggage storage for guests. We loved our stay in Nabukeru homestay! It was a really unique experience to take part in the life of a Fijian village. All the people in Nabukeru village and especially our host Misi warmly welcomed us and made us feel at home during our entire stay. Every meal was prepared by a different family and brought to our bure so we got to chat with different people from the village each day. The meals were super delicious and mainly consisted of freshly caught seafood as well as different fruits and plants that are grown in the village, cooked with coconut milk (e. g. breadfruit, cassava, bananas, mangos). And of course we loved our beachfront bure with paradisiacal beaches surrounding us! We also got to visit the school in the village, play with the children, see the caves nearby and try kava. If you go to Fiji we highly recommend visiting Nabukeru village!
