This 4-star homestay offers a lift and luggage storage space. The property is 2 km from the city centre and 1.3 km from Sanjusangen-do Temple. The room was very clean and nicely designed. Kevin who's managing the reception was extremely kind and helpful! The price was also reasonable for the date that I booked. The street that the hotel is on is very nice with a small stream and trees going through the middle. The shower in the room was nice, but if you have a few nights there I recommend to also try the sento (public bath) that is just a few houses away. There's also a single electric stove and a sink in the room and you can take a clean pot or pan from the reception amenities if you want to cook. I haven't used it so I'm not sure how usable it is, there doesn't seem to be much of a cutting and prep space, maybe you can use the desk in the other side of the room.

Located in the centre of Kyoto, 雅 is a recently renovated accommodation, which provides soundproof rooms. The air-conditioned accommodation is less than 1 km from Gion Shijo Station. The guest house features family rooms. The perfect location 5 minutes walk from nikishi market with a lot of restaurants and convenient stores around. Super friendly and nice staff. Don’t forget to treat yourself with a massage just around the corner.

A hot tub and a bicycle rental service are available for guests. The accommodation provides a shared kitchen, full-day security and currency exchange for guests. Lady Cecco, who is the owner of this beautiful 100years ++ old house was/is extremely friendly and helpful and among others an excellent cook! Apart from feeling very welcome, we also enjoyed her Japanese style breakfast, which was very special and delicious. The house is super charming and the tatami smells so good, the futon beds were comfortable and otherwise, in spite of being a historical place, the room was equipped with all possible comforts, i.a. a well-functioning AirCon, which was badly necessary, since our Kyoto visit happened to be during a terrible heatwave after heavy rains (ca. 40°C + unbearably humid). All in all, we enjoyed our stay at Azukiya very much! Arigato goizamazu :)

The room was very clean and cozy. The breakfast every morning was delicious. The host Kayoko is an amazing person. Her warm welcome and hostpitiy made our stay truly enjoyable. Really appreciate this wonderful experience.

The most wonderful surprise of all was how helpful Haruka and her husband were, they spoke great English, gave us advice for how to get to the property easily via the local trains, provided us with maps of the area and gave us recommendations for some of the different tourism spots in the area.

I have been welcomed with a cup of tea and a cooky.They gave me very helpful information and even drove me to the railway station. I regret that I couldn't stay longer. Next time for sure!
