The property has sea and mountain views, and is 33 km from Shuzen-ji Temple. The guest house features family rooms. At first I was surprised by the good ratings, but it was indeed well deserved! The staff was very friendly and the guesthouse is very spacious, with a great view to the mountain and the sea. We were very well received and everything was clean and tidy! Top experience

Effective October 1, 2025, a lodging tax will be introduced by ordinance of Takayama City. In addition to the room charge, 100 yen per person per day will be charged. Please pay in cash or by card upon check-in. Guests under 12 years old are exempt from the lodging tax. Guest House Ouka is about 11mins walk from Takayama station, the route was pretty straight forward - just a straight line! The Guest House itself is cosy and well decorated. On 1/F you will find the reception counter and a home-like common area, the kitchen is fully equipped with utensils, cookware and long dining tables, Shower rooms are just next to the kitchen. My single room was on the 2/F which was clean, warm and spacious!! (with comfy bed/ chair/ hair dryer/ mirror/ small laundry rack etc. and a warm welcome note :) Restroom/ washing machine (200yen)/ tumble dryer/ Laundry racks/ washbasins were just few steps away. Staffs were so friendly and helpful, luggage storage was also available before check in and after check out. I had a great time in Ouka and Takayama, will definitely come back next time (and stay for few more days!)

The owner had a very welcoming energy and the space was cosy. Great location. A really lovely little town.

Undoubtedly, this place was one of the best accommodations I have been. The place is spotless. Seiko is a Super Host. She was very helpful to my request. Getting out of the train station you can turn to the left and after crossing the railway it is a two-minutes walk, there is a mini supermarket just in front of the accommodation and a big supermarket 4 minutes up the main road. The Villa is so adorable, if you have time for a little stroll, you will enjoy it. I strongly recommend it.

They are both deeply passionate about Tokoname artists and will be able to give you a lot of information about them. They delivered an authentic experience of living in a Japanese household. The rooms are cute, clean, and comfortable too!

I spent three nights at B&B Legare. Eri was an excellent host. Not only friendly and warm, she actually took the trouble of planning an itinerary for me. Every night she brought me to a different onsen and we had dinner out together. For my day trip to Gujo Hachiman she drove me to the bus station and made sure I bought the right ticket and boarded the right bus. The B&B is not close to the city centre so everyday she sent and picked me up from the city centre. If not for Eri I wouldn’t have been able to experience as much as I did in Gifu; she brought me to places I otherwise would find challenging to get to get to and I learnt more about Gifu and Japanese culture from her. Also the room I had at B&B was very comfortable and spacious and I slept so very well on the futon.
