The property is absolutely breathtaking. Spotlessly clean and very tastefully designed and decorated. Manoji and her husband are exceptional hosts: Manoji’s thoughtfulness and care (and her cooking lessons!) made the space feel like home. Highbury is a short tuktuk ride away from the Gallery Cafe and Geoffrey Bawa’s Residence (No. 11). Would definitely return to Highbury if I’m ever back in Colombo!

There is a private entrance at the homestay for the convenience of those who stay. The accommodation offers airport transfers, while a car rental service is also available. An exceptionally clean and spacious room in a quiet and green area outside Colombo. The bed and pillows were lovely and comfortable, which made for a restful night. There was a fridge and small kitchen area in the room, with a kettle, cups, plates, and basic utensils. The room had a TV, fan, and air conditioner. The bathroom is modern, with a lovely hot and cold walk-in shower. Soap and shampoo were provided. There was a large lounge and dining area separate to the sleeping area, available for my use. There was also a lovely veranda / balcony off the bedroom, with a table and 2 chairs to sit on. Gayathri was friendly and welcoming, and we had a lovely discussion upon my arrival. Breakfast is provided, but I left too early in the morning to enjoy this lovely addition.

At the homestay, each unit is fitted with bed linen and towels. The owner is such a kind and helpful person. She makes traditional local breakfasts, you should definitely opt for. Their house is in a quiet street, which is something to say in Colombo. I had a clean and pleasent room with a king-sized bed. Overall I had a great experience and would recommend this accomodation.

This property offers access to a terrace, free private parking and free WiFi. Featuring a private entrance, the guest house allows guests to maintain their privacy. Everything! This was on my bucket list for a very long time. Spending a night in the very house that the legend Geoffrey Bawa lived & worked was in itself a moving experience. Beautifully maintained by the trust. Every corner, every piece of furniture & art has a story to tell. Staff is wonderful & breakfast was delicious. Can't wait to return to Colombo & stay here again.

Very comfortable.
