It had everything we could have wanted - the bed was comfortable, the air-con was great and the wifi was pretty fantastic considering it’s on an island. We walked to and from the ferry terminal, and walked everywhere from the accommodation. The owners are very friendly and kind. It’s so quiet, even during the day, which made it very relaxing. We slept so well!

We would definitely recommend staying here! We arrived pretty late in the evening after a long flight and the host gave us a warm welcome. The room and bathroom were nice. And the shared space with swimming pool is a great addition! The host gave us some nice advice as it was our first day in Mexico. We’re coming back here when we have our flight back home.

The guesthouse is small with just 6 rooms and is built so that you feel like you are staying in a tropical tree house. The rooms are clean, beautiful, and romantic! We loved the little pool on the roof; perfect for a refreshing dip after a day at the beach. We had the best time!

We ran into some trouble with our credit cards and ended up with no money to begin our trip with. Maru was incredibly kind and even lent us money to buy dinner until we managed to sort things out. In the morning, she provided us with some fresh fruit :) The neighbourhood felt very safe (the place is part of a gated community) and our room was clean and comfortable. We would definitely stay here again.

Wonderful views of the Laguna Bacalar! The owner, Horacio, is very helpful and informative - he even gave us a Lonely Planet of Yucatan for free. A walk from the town center, but fortunately there is a very good restaurant nearby the Amigos Hotelito. It is expensive for Mexican standards since - with its heavenly lagoon - Bacalar has become a highlight in Yucatan. The price is right for the location.
