I recently stayed at YHA Byron Bay and had an absolutely amazing experience—it’s easily one of the best YHA hostels I’ve visited in Australia. The entire property feels new and modern, a big contrast to older YHAs. One standout is the kitchen facilities, which are top-notch. Everything you need is there, and it’s all clean and well-maintained. They also have washing and dryer machines on-site that are actually new and work really well—much better than the older machines you often find in other hostels. If you’re a digital nomad, you’ll love the dedicated co-working room with fast internet and plenty of space to set up a laptop. Every table has a plug for charging, which can be hard to find in some hostels. It’s comfortable, quiet, and ideal for getting work done. When you need a break, there are tons of cozy spots around the hostel to relax and unwind. During my stay, I joined the lighthouse tour organized by the YHA staff. They were super friendly and helpful, and it was a fun way to meet fellow travelers and explore the local area. The hostel also hosts plenty of events, so there’s always something social to look forward to. Overall, YHA Byron Bay is a fantastic choice—perfect for travelers who value cleanliness, modern amenities, and a welcoming atmosphere. Beautiful, clean and social hostel in the middle of Byron Bay. It has everything you could want as a backpacker here.

we loved how well-equipped the kitchen was, how clean the facilities were, and how friendly all the staff were! we also loved the location and how we could rent surf and body boards for free.

Best bathrooms and showers I have seen in a while. Super clean and very modern. Very nice and helpful staff as well.

The whole vibe at the arts factory is amazing. There’s a big courtyard where you find heaps of facilities to chill, work out and socialize. The rooms were clean with comfortable beds. Also the bathrooms were clean.

Great location walking distance into the main parts of Byron bay and the beach. The Hostel was peaceful at night with a friendly atmosphere during the day amongst fellow guests. There is a nice outdoor space with a big lawn and outdoor benches. The showers were clean and the private double bedroom was a good size with storage and fresh clean bedding. There was a good ceiling fan.
