I don’t really like hostels and sharing spaces as I’ve been in way too many at this point. Nevertheless this place is my favourite in Cairns, and probably in Australia too. Sharing kitchen is always clean, enough and clean bathrooms, superb staff, people really respects the rules, quiet at night and absolutely comfy beds. Makes me feel like in a little home.

Dreamtime is an award winning hostel with a difference. We offer travellers a safe, peaceful & cosy place to stay. We are not a party hostel.

Tim was amazing! Super helpful! Very nice people. Helped with the touristy part. Helped book tours and helped with discounts! The place was beautiful. Very comfortable rooms and very clean too!

Really nice and tidy place close to everything you need! Nice and clean comfy rooms. Loved the bed and that the place is really quiet during the late hours. Kitchen is good and clean. Overall the place is well maintained and looked after. There's a small area outdoors in the back where you can relax or have a swim in the beautiful pool. The place feels safe and the front door is always locked. Peter and Tommy were really nice and helpful. Thank you for everything. We had a great stay!

Refurbished in May, 2018, Mad Monkey Village featuresa TV, a kitchen, bathrooms with air-conditioners in every room. There is also an outdoor swimming pool. Free WiFi provided.

The location, the staff, the rooms, shared spaces - everything was great! I definitely did not expect that, and this hostel just exceeded my expectations.

Ideally located in the scenic and quieter area of the Esplanade- away from the noise of the clubs, bars and traffic- but only an easy 10 minute walk to the main attractions, the Pier and Cairns City...

We loved the hostel. It is perfect for spending some time in Cairns. It is better suited for younger people who like parties, as there are activities every night. They offer lots of day trips, so you will never experience boredom at this hostel. The dinner at the hostel was delicious.

Clean, comfortable and relatively soundproof private room with good A/C - it was perfect for our one night stay before getting a campervan :) bathrooms were also clean and had great wifi :)
