The owners Jane and Filipe together with the rest of the family (mom Janet, dogs) really make the place very special. They make you feel welcome, even before you arrive! Felt like home after a day of walking, rafting etc. The meals are yummie and a massage of mom Janet are also very much recommended.

Great location, walking distance to all points of interests including restaurants. Beautiful set up overlooking the town. Staff were excellent with a lot of advice, kind and happy to help with everything. Breakfast was excellent. Great music and activities set up.

I spent a wonderful 6 nights in La Casona Don Juan. It’s one corner from the main square, practically everything is in walking distance. The breakfast (which is included in the price) is delicious, a good amount and you have different options. You can also ask for extra veggies. There’s free coffee and tea available all day long. They serve various fast food until 9 pm, and there’s also a bar. All the staff members has been great, very kind and helpful with anything. They were calling me by my name after a couple of days :) A wide range of activities can be booked through them. The room was always clean, they clean them every day and even make your bed. It was also spacious with plenty of space to keep your stuff. Most of the beds in the dorms are single beds, not bunkbeds. They give you free towels. Lockers are available for free with keys. The bathrooms are well equipped and were always clean. There’s a large garden that acts as the biggest common area with very chill vibes.

It was by far the best hostal I stayed in during my 2 month backpacking trip through Colombia. Apart from the fantastic location and the extremely friendly and insanely helpful crew, the hostal offered enough space and was sufficiently equipped to, for example, hang up wet things (e.g. towel/swimwear, etc.), store the backpack and clothes well and each bed, had a bedside table with power socket and lamp. Things you learn to appreciate when you´re travel around within the Colombian hostal world. I also really like the fact that there are very friendly notes everywhere to raise ecological awareness. The crew is by far the friendliest I have ever met and responsibly and trustworthily while helping to plan tours in the area and get to know San Gil. All tips and assistance have always been a complete success and was always really economical. Flo and Natalie were super friendly and helpful. Stayed here for more than a week and I would like to stay longer. The food was so delicious, tried almost every meal on the menu XD. The craft beer and the kombuchas are so tasty too. Cook in the outside kitchen with amazing views to the valley, nice cold shower in the nature... Even had some really good mounbiking with flo to the towns nearby~~ Definitely come back when I visit Colombia in the future.

Claudia and her family are so warm and welcoming. My room was so comfortable and having TV with Netflix was a bonus! The kitchen has everything you need. There is a really nice atmosphere in the Hostel too.
