I absolutely loved my stay. Michelle is the caretaker and she was just incredible - so nurturing and caring. This place doesn’t feel like a hostel, it’s cosy, homely and so relaxed and friendly… plus you’re surrounded by such beauty just outside the door. It’s a really special place.

Very small room, very very very very small, but cute and although I had a lot of stuff with me I managed to put everything somewhere in the room (wardrobe, under the washbasin, next to the chair) =) Even the commen rooms (kitchen, living room and bathrooms) were very clean! Although this guest house is a bit away from the next city you will find a postbox around 50 meters away. You could reach the train within 15 minutes by foot. Also the next little supermarket. And I loved the little dragon on the bunch of keys =)

I chose YHA firstly for its perfect location. I arrived in the evening just in time to enjoy the sunset. And then I had the best birthday morning enjoying my coffee with a wonderful view before exploring The Miners Track (the path starts literally 10 meters from the hostel). The staff are lovely. And the famous British breakfast (I had veggie version though) kept me energized till the end of my adventure. When I can feel my legs again and decide to do the Snowdon summit one more time, I will not think twice to stay here again.
