I had a double room which was super nice, with a balcony facing the lake. Food was great. A kayak is there for rent, highly recommended. Very easy going and friendly atmosphere.

We had great fun at Zostel Varkala! The staff were lovely and there was a lively atmosphere and always something happening. The room was clean and quiet with a comfortable bed and good AC. We did surfing and a trip to nearby backwaters, both good value. Special thanks to Manu, Joss, Shan and Smriti!

About the hostel very shortly, well facilitated, comfortable, and neat. I do believe that people create a unique place, and this place confirms that. The host, Santos, is so generous, hospitable, and helpful. He can arrange everything, bicycle, food, trains, and I guess much more. Loved the hostel. Really really friendly staff they’re like a family there and look after you. There weren’t many people when I was there due to it being the off season but in terms of the facilities and staff I couldn’t ask for anything more.

I stayed there for a week and it was lovely. The place is really clean, the rooms are nice and the common areas are great. They really care about their guests and it was a good place to stay, close to the cliff but not in the middle of the Varkala tourists chaos. Thank you all so much for everything!!!

I highly recommend this recently-opened hostel with a lovely personnel ready to help. All amenities are new and clean. There is a nice rooftop space with a nice view toward the sea.
