IrelandEvery single thing in this place is beautiful with the most wonderfully designed restoration work I’ve ever seen. The owners clearly love and care for this place and have done everything to make it welcoming for guests. We absolutely loved it.
We hiked from the door to Tsumago down the Nakasendo trail and got the bus back. We got most meals from the grocery shop 50m away. The location across from the train makes it perfect for getting around. We loved our stay!

South AfricaThis beautiful preserved building holds many stories and you can feel it when you sit in the still courtyard with a view of the misty mountains. Careful consideration has been put into curating the space to make it feel homey and calm. Fukuta Yasuhiro (the host) shared local wine and sake with us in the charming kitchen and we all gained more insight into the history of the Nakesendo trail. I wish we could have stayed longer. Kampei!
