This is a wonderful space. It's in walking distance of most everything, with a rooftop that many from other hostels came to take advantage of. I loved the community built around breakfast (about four staple meals that rotate, with french toast being my favorite!) to the spontaneous vibe in the hammock area to the shared awe of mountains (when seen) on the roof. I met travelers from all over the world who were thoughtful, conscientious, and open to spontaneous adventure. Not to mention, the staff was very kind. I was worried because I saw a few past reviews mention racism towards Indian-presenting guests, but not only did I face no problems, if anything, I feel like I got extra love for being "almost Nepali!" I also thought the comforter provided warm and cozy, the curtains on the bed providing plenty of privacy, and the personal lights and chargers in great working condition. I always had hot water when I showered, regardless of when I did - 3 am, 8 am, or in the afternoon, sunny day or no. Last but not least, I work remotely and never had a problem with wifi for any of my video meetings.

Good room with a big, comfortable bed! Bathroom is fine — clean, with a small window to keep it dry. The layout is a bit unusual, but it works. The rooftop is very good — nice view and different types of seating. There are also proper tables where it's comfortable to work on a laptop. Very friendly staff. There's a self-service kitchen on the rooftop, which is a big plus! And — there's a table in the room! So I could work inside too!

I checked into Nepalaya Eco Hostel on my first night in Pokhara and ended up staying for over a month. It’s such an easy place to relax and just unwind. Rather than feeling like a typical hostel, it felt more like a homestay with a restaurant—comfortable and welcoming—yet still offered the benefits of a hostel. I enjoyed meeting other travelers in the shared dorm, and the atmosphere was laid-back and friendly. The family who runs the hostel was incredibly helpful on many occasions—from finding me a quiet room for a conference call to setting up an extension cord so I could charge my laptop in the dorm. These small acts of kindness made a big difference in my stay. I’d definitely return here the next time I’m in Pokhara.

the property is located in a convenient area of lakeside being close to both the park for leisure and relaxing as well as very good and affordable food. the rooftop bar area is amazing for social gatherings and has ample space to accommodate dozens of people for a good time, it also has an amazing view when it's clear and is a great spot to see the mountains while enjoying a cold beer with friends. the staff are incredibly helpful and friendly, they always ask about your plans and are ready to help with anything you may need.
